I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Learning Technologies at University of North Texas.
My research sits at the intersection of educational psychology and technology, with a focus on motivation, engagement, self-regulation, autonomy support, instructional feedback, and AI-powered learning environments. To study these constructs, I draw on advanced methodologies including educational data mining, experience sampling, and video analysis. My work is getting interdisciplinary. I conduct studies in both programming education and medical education. I also bring hands-on expertise in AI tool development and efficacy research, which positions me to both design and rigorously evaluate the educational technologies I study.
In my teaching, I specialize in educational psychology theory and quantitative methodology.
